Established in 2005, Misanthropia has risen from the ashes of multiple bands around Nijmegen by Dennis, Bram and Maurice. Thijs and Sarban soon joined the legion. Misanthropia recorded their debut album “Rise of Necropolis” in Double Noise Studio Tilburg/dutch.

Misanthropia sails a heavy melodic dark/black metal course.In the meantime, the band shared the stage with Mayhem (NO), played on festivals such as Boschkilde and to Hellfest and played on stages like 013, Metropool and Willem 2.

The abundant inspiration is never ending and the band continuously works on new songs.

In 2009 Misanthropia hooked up with Mike Wead (King Diamond, Mercyful Fate and Bibleblack) to mix and master their second album “Slang des Doods”. The release is due in September 2010 through the snakebite label of Rock Inc.
